I generally help out with the sound and lights for our weekly Campus Crusade for Christ meetings. I lug stuff around and set up the lights. Then I tear down afterward and help lug all the stuff out (and with the new speakers and amp we just bought, there’s a lot more of the lugging), and clean up the tremendous amount of trash left behind. It takes about two hours before the meeting and like an hour afterward, and is generally a thankless task (except from a select few). Sound and lighting is one of those things where if everything goes smoothly, nobody notices. But if something breaks, everyone notices because it’s such an integral part of the meeting. Anyway, last night one of the band members took several minutes to tell the crowd how much work we put in (which isn’t as much as he made it sound like) and thank us. It was really nice. And then they bought the crew pie at Village Inn. Very cool. It is good to be appreciated.

Hmm I can’t say that I so much enjoy our CCC here on campus, it’s more like a little cult, and I went there at the beginning of last year, but I felt isolated, so instead I go to FCA, which does some awesome worship…
the point of this?
FCA>CCC! ^-^

Isn’t FCA the Fellowship of Christian Athletes?

If that’s the case, Eric isn’t an athlete…much less athletic.

Eh you don’t have to be a Christian or an Athlete…it somewhat follows athletics for the campus, and we always do all of the intramurals offered, but generally it’s just a great place to meet more Christians and listen to some awesome speakers…
but maybe that’s just Mines, we’re apparently weird compared to the way normal campuses function…
