Sorry it’s been a bit since I’ve put any words here for you to read. Events that took me around the country conspired to keep me from it… or, at least, that’s the excuse I’m using. Obviously it would have been easy for me to find fifteen minutes to post a lil’ somepin’ somepin’ here, but I like to think that you wouldn’t reason that out. Not that I’m saying you’re not smart. All my other readers are idiotsticks — but you? You’re different. You’re a genius. Just don’t let the others know, kay?

I’m back in the dorms and I had forgotten how much I loved them. Yesterday I had already had more fun in one day than I had the entire summer. Instead of putting up with our craptastic dorm internet here, with all its hundreds of virus-infected Windows boxes and port blockage, we opted to go with a cable solution. Granted, we’re paying $60 a month for it, but split among four (not between: between is two, among is three or more) roommates, it’s not so bad. We also reaped the benefits of somebody’s insanity at Cox, because apparently they didn’t think the 5 megs of their previous offering was good enough, so they bumped it up to nine. Yes, you read that right: I currently have nine megabits downstream on my internet connection. Yes, that’s right, I can pull down nine million bits per second. This morning I was downloading a Linux ISO at a sustained 900k/s. It took twelve minutes. Web pages snap into place, like I’m loading them from a local LAN server. It’s ridiculously fast. And I just wanted to say that, because I know that most of you don’t have anything like those speeds — so ha.

Now, to go see if I can mangle OS X86 onto my PC…

hankins…can i get in on ur deal? I’d love to get on a good internet connection, all i’d have to do is split it with u guys…cheaper for u, faster for me. Holla across the hall.

also how do i get one of these website/blog deals? As much as i would like to spend 30 minutes on google trying to find the right community, maybe you could point me in the right direction. Been writing some stream of consciousness lately, and maybe it’d be nice to post a public persona. hook me up man

Sounds . . . uh, super . . . dude, Eric, you need to call me back . . . sometime soon . . . also, I need your supposed “new” adress, as -anti- is about complete, and it would be super to include the artwork for the past cd’s so you have them. Um, yeah, hope you are well, and stuff . . . I hope everything is well with you and your girlfriend, and hmmm . . . oh, yeah, Outkast is pimp and so is Bombs Over Bahgdad (however that is spelled).
Very fondly,

-cary-

p.s. yeah, sorry to put this on your site, but I’ve been trying to get ahold of you . . .

Yeah, I just moved from my beautimus connection back at the house to the craptastic one here at UCCS, and ‘blegh’. It’s like 1000/600 or something. Terrible. My ping on my WoW server is all screwed up now, too, since I guess I’m on a different pipe that feels it has no reason to stop anywhere near where Thunderlord is based. Ping is 2500+ constant. My BF2 and CS:S pings are lower though, so I guess it’s a trade-off. Still. What the hell. 2500? 1000/600? And they have the nerve to make me pay for it. Whatever.

Aww… wow. That sucks dude. I’m sorry. It’s a hard thing to live with crappy internet. It’s even harder when you’re coming down from good internet.
