Sometimes I am overcome with the following thought: “If God is who he says he is, and he has promised certain things (such as freedom from sin), and he has also promised to give us what we ask for, and I have asked him to fulfill his promises to me, but they have NOT been fulfilled… why is that? Does that mean that God doesn’t exist?” During one such time, I wrote this, and I just discovered it and was surprised at how well written it is. (Well, I think so. Feel free to disagree.)
Can I deny what my mind has perceived? Can I deny that experiences I have had are real? I cannot. But neither can I reach a reconciliation of my expectations with other experiences. So, left with doubt, yet having to make a decision (realizing that not deciding is still a choice), I must take that path which seems most right to me and rings most True in my heart. I find that faith really is necessary and is, in fact, the glue that reconciles expectation and experience. Having so reasoned, and being assured that I have applied my Logic yet once again to reach God, I arrive at my destination to learn that it is Him, not I, who has reached across the interminable gulf, and that for all of my considerable Understanding, there is One who cannot be Understood; I must let go the arduous Self and in so doing gain that which I have sought all along: Peace.

RESULTS
Dan’s wins hands down without even trying. The competition just… it’s not there. Consider yourselves annihilated by Dan’s masterful ingenuity and connectivity. However, I did quite enjoy Indo’s so he will receive a 5% bonus! Kathlyn, after much consideration per our conversation several days ago, I have decided not to penalize you for calling me a “geezer”. In fact, I am going to, as you suggested, award you a 1% bonus for using the word “whippersnapper”. Well done.
